THE APARTMENT OF MR AND MRS L.
To renovate this 300 m2 apartment located near the Trocadero, the architect did not hesitate to cut through existing spaces, to establish contrasts between the rough and the precious. Previously fragmented, with low ceilings and no strong link between them, the three levels have been completely restructured. Readability and transparency today qualify the beautiful volumes that have replaced the narrow rooms. This rebalancing of spaces enhances transparency across the apartment and accentuates relationships with the four terraces, redesigned to better dominate the urban landscape. In the enlarged living room-kitchen with its manifest industrial spirit, two immense metal arches confer a powerful identity to the place. Imposing the geometry of their black lines, they oppose the matt white of the resin floor and the ceilings, a two-tone wink to the buildings of the 1930s. In the other rooms, the asymmetry is erased thanks to a subtle play on materials, whether it is custom furniture or the presence of mirrors on the ceilings creating new perspectives.
