#MXDC03 (FUTURE)
We were appointed to do the museography of the last exhibition of the series “Mexico Ciudad Diseño” that were organized at the Design & Architecture gallery Archivo, dedicated to the design developed in Mexico City through past, present and future.
MXDC03 was dedicated to the future of design in Mexico City, covering different fields and scales of Art and design like: Graphic design, Industrial design, architecture and urbanism by showcasing the work of 7 pairs of “creative minds” who worked within these different fields of design.
Our intervention aimed to be very simple and straight forward, trying not to be the focus of attention at the exhibition. The intervention was made using two types of pink industrial plastic that worked as translucent membranes that organized the interior space of the exhibition and gave a very warm and powerful pink colored light to the different spaces inside and outside the gallery. The Idea was to change the original white atmosphere of the gallery by painting the ceilings, floors and walls with light.
On the outside, the small pavilion made with this translucent membrane, contrasts with the green surroundings of the garden and let the visitors wander freely in the gallery.
These simple actions changed the whole space completely during the months of the exhibition.
