Old apartment’s renovation in south of France
This project consists in the full renovation of an apartment in an old building in the city center of Montpellier (France). This metamorphosis consisted in the demolition of the existing partitions and ceilings and in the inversion of the night and day spaces in order to enjoy a brighter and more generous living space. By investing the attic space, the project increases the surface area of the apartment. The newly distributed spaces are organized around a central nucleus which accompanies the people from the kitchen-living room to the night area. The boundaries between the different spaces, marked by sets of ceiling heights, are permeable, amplifying the feeling of space.
