In a prestigious building, whose inner courtyard facades were created by Borromini, right in the heart of Rome’s historical centre near Piazza di Spagna, the latest Italian Leica project was developed – the Leica store Rome. The aim of the project was to reinterpret the Leica concept design in a more poetic style starting with the surrounding influences. The space that emerged after eliminating the additions made by previous stores, revealed the very high ceilings with barrel vaults divided into very intimate rooms despite their height.Plane surfaces and individual walls were transformed into static photo shots, offering users special frames and viewpoints. The natural light illuminated the old walls which was particularly striking.
