BARCELONA BUILDING CONSTRUMAT
The project consists of the integral design of the 2,800 m2 surface of the common areas of Barcelona Building Construmat.
The project consists of the integral design of the 2,800 m2 surface of the common areas of Barcelona Building Construmat.
These areas are divided into three spaces according to their content: the "Future Arena", with new developments related to new materials, systems and research in the field of construction; the "Meetings Arena", with an area for press, workshops, meetings and work spaces; and the "Talks Arena", with an auditorium for 300 people.
The main strategy used to define all these spaces and endow them with a common image operates on three levels:
On one hand, the project proposes the unification of both chromatic and constructive systems. In this way, within the heterogeneity that exists in every fair, the common areas will be clearly identifiable.
On the other hand, we adopt a strategy where the shape and location of each space can easily vary during the entire design process. In an event of this size, the number of stands that will participate is not known until a few days before the opening, and thus the area of the common spaces can suffer last minute variations. As a consequence, a strategy of spaces in the form of a "nest", which do not have a precise location or an immovable surface, is prefered since they are adaptable to any space. Confronted with a closed design it is about projecting an open strategy.
Third, the intervention is divided into two parts: one in height, with pyramid trunks that offer kaleidoscopic images in singular points and a moving virtual roof that will allow identifying common areas from afar.
Below these, nests made with a simple system of red tape screens accommodate the different spaces regardless of their use or size.
Since this is a fair that revolves around the world of construction, all solutions and details are always exposed, and all spaces are also visible from behind, showing how they are built and what materials and detailed solutions have been used.
