BAR BASKET
The bar is located in a nineteenth-century building located in the village of Sant'Alessandro in Lower Bergamo, and consists of a deep excavation of five large rooms with a rectangular plan. The restructuring has played on this scan of environments, seen as a succession of shops in the old village, especially since this sort of tunnel ends with an internal courtyard, also with a rectangular plan. As usual, the operation consists first of all in laying out the existing structures; the rooms have been uniformly plastered in slaked lime gray opaque, the floors made of quartz spatulated concrete. The supporting structures of the new intervention are made of iron.
The ceilings of the two rooms for the public were opened for two large skylights.
At the center of the space a self-supporting iron ladder, anchored on an easel bolted at the end of the lateral beams, leads to the upper floor used as services. Here, inside the large rectangular box covered in steel, the toilets of the room are housed. All the furnishings are made of steel, and are constructed as modular elements with a square or rectangular shape. In order to animate the walls, in a dynamic-luminous sense, kinetic works of art have been inserted, so that the space can change virtually.
