Restructuration of an administrative Building along the Bavariaring
The Bavariaring is, as part of the listed Ensemble Wiesenviertel, characterizes by large-scale, representative urban villas. The existing building by Ackermann and Partner is an interpretation of an urban villa dedicated to moderate modernism.
Large-scale, industrial glas surfaces with a finely woven grid structure are dominating the facade, simultaneously craftsmanlike detail such as the lead cladding and the, the detached house emphasizing, tent roof can be found.
The refurbishment contributes to these approaches and translates them into contemporary terms.
The grid of the house is maintained while the opening parts are reduced. The house is more solid and integrates itself better into the surrounding of punctuated facades. Furthermore the new Facade contains a strong architectonic structure as well as layers in depth, in a analogy to the historic neighbors.
