Aulesti Pavilion
The assignment consisted in creating a multifunctional space for a client who loves Basque sports and rural agriculture.
With a small budget and the default form, the project strategy is based on modulation and prefabrication. Because the pavilion does not have facilities such as light and water, the standard building elements were rethought to meet these needs and create an interesting piece of architecture. Thus, in the sandwich panel cover, 3 skylights are integrated to capture natural light. It collects rainwater and storerooms to feed animals and irrigation. The placement of the concrete block in the upper part of the enclosures guarantees of the correct natural ventilation. The openings in all the facades, make possible the control of the whole plot and the access of the animals to different parts of it. The galvanized steel structure composed of standard parts, was sized according to the dimensions of the concrete block, facilitating the assembly of the enclosures and reducing construction time.
