Garden of Santo Domingo de Bonaval

The garden was originally a monastery of Santo Domingo de Bonaval back garden, the monks inside all sorts of dishes. The late eighties it was commissioned and CGAC galleries together to Siza. Principal and protection of Spanish heritage who had hoped CGAC away from the street, hidden self, is the hope in making this garden. Later in Siza's insistence CGAC eventually be built in the present location. As well as the relationship between art museum and convent of the formation of new entrance garden, as well as by the pursuit of Driehaus Prize architects and critics praised the pursuit Prizker Prize Architects.
When Siza took over the project, the garden is basically ruins. A combination of the eighteenth century ancient maps and site excavations, finally found a granite waterway, which is the year of the irrigation system. Based on this, Siza designed a series of ramps and stairs, the whole garden series up.
