AJAC XI Awards travelling exhibition
'Ajac Awards' is a biannual contest that recognizes the best architectural projects carried out by architects under 40 in Catalonia.
·
Our assignment consists of the design and assembly of the travelling exhibition that will show these projects throughout the Catalan territory during 2 years.
·
The proposal consists of the aggregation of a single element repeated 12 times: a 195x160cm cardboard panel based in the 'Ajac XI Awards' logo.
·
Panels are made of 3cm honeycomb cardboard, a material that combines lightness and resistance.
·
Joints between panels are solved by the assembly of 10cm wide flaps cut in dovetail.
·
In order to facilitate the assembly/disassembly of the exhibition, adhesives neither screws are not required.
·
The approximate cost per panel, including material, cutting and two-sided printing, is about €140+VAT.
·
The system allows to join 2 panels -in perpendicular or in plane-, 3 panels in 'T' or 4 panels in cross.
·
Through a single element repeated twelve times, the system allows to create an infinite number of combinations, facilitating its adaptation to different exhibition spaces.
·
The non-regular geometry of the panels allows cross-diagonal visions that favor nonlinear perception of the exhibition.
·
The stability of panels is only accomplished by mutual bracing. This symbolizes the importance of the collective: the objective of the awards is to give a panoramic view beyond the intrinsic value of every single project.
