Pimentas Center of Arts and Education
The Pimentas Educational Center provides the neighboring communities with leisure, education and sports facility.
The project is laid on a main straight axis, materialized by the metallic roof, housing all the functions. Such functions are set on both sides along the central void that leads to the sports area on the project.
The pool is located outside this roof axis. The flat topography and the linear predominant form of the site were the main factors for this parti.
Several sub facilities are distributed along the axis in the form of independent blocks, some prefabricated and others casted-in-place concrete. The library, classrooms and cafeteria are located at the axis west side.
At the opposite side, are located at the axis west side. At the opposite side, are located other classrooms, gymnasium, dance practice rooms and auditorium.
The central void is the agora. Without a predefined use, it articulates and blends its surrounding uses by menas of suggested walkways.
Several forms of interaction and permanence are created by the curve benches and empty spaces. Ludic colors covering the inner walls, from green to orange, contribute to such diversity and atmosphere.
