The extension of the burial chamber proposes a new enclosure that encompasses the existing building, creating at the same time a sheltered entrance threshold. Mason wall coated, this new facade admits a more refined architectural writing that contrasts with the apparatus of the preserved stone. The building envelope adopts an opaque and unitary treatment, avoiding any visual relation with the external context. Only piercing frontage, the large framing of the entrance porch reveals the preserved stone facade. The roof (slab + parapets) represents a new cast concrete architectural element in place, this entity stands out from the facades by its materiality. The parapets, sloping on the east and west facades allow the integration of a kiosk that has a dual function: The kiosk on the roof contains glass blocks to naturally illuminate the new room of reverence. It is a question of proposing a diffused and measured provision of light, by without visual relation with the external environment. This kiosk also makes it possible to hide the technical equipment present on the roof.
