The competition for the construction of the highschool cafetaria Claret was intended to be innovative.
Innovative by its architecture which asserts itself and emancipates from the existing volumes of the establishment. Innovative by its configuration with the will to offer a continuously snack and a varied and affordable meal offer. Finally innovative by its internal organization and the close relation that the b uilding maintains with the external spaces of the school. It is with this mindset that we won the competition launched by the region and work to design with all the actors, a place resolutely modern in its programming and a catering offer in connection with his time.
We therefore propose a building of minimal thickness, compact and respectful of the surrounding context. The school today lacks outdoor open spaces that could be defined as playgrounds. We have located the building closest to the boulevard to leave a large free area that offers students an outdoor area passable. The latter, treated as a large garden, serves as a barrier plant between the school and the neighbors while offering shaded areas.
