“The cabin is a simple rectangular building of 10x8m that is part of the whole Mas Masnou farmhouse, located in the heart of the Natural Park of the Volcanic Area of the Garrotxa in a beautiful area in the Fageda d ‘en Jorda. The formal clarity of the original building with a ground floor walls of volcanic stone and lime mortar used for storage, and an open and airy below decks, used as dryer upstairs suggested the possibility of proposing an intervention that would allow a clear reading of the original typology. We place a volume of perforated steel that floats within the existing volume without touching it, talking with him in an exercise in vocabulary fusion between contemporary and traditional forms and construction methods”
