Casa Studio 1408
A tectonic brick base - the wall - complemented by a pure white stacked box. This is what integrates the house with the sourroundings.
A corner plot, open to nature and a community on two sides of a total length of 35 meters, led to the idea of creating a building that actively communicates with its context, while making a conscious effort to provide privacy to the interior spaces.
To the street, a long compositional wall of apparent brick materializes the need for intimacy of family life, but allows the view from the inside to the landscape through the perforations.
The use of the exposed brick intends to introduce natural tones that complement the scenery of a rich green, and the perforated accents allow the penetration of natural light and creates different spectacular effects depending on the position of the sun, adding another kind of element to the relationship between inner spaces and nature.
The brick wall is pierced by an enlarged opening to a mineral inner courtyard, a double-height central volume that connects all the living quarters, and is designed to create an overlap between landscape and architecture, between the exterior and the interior. From the inside, the opening forms a frame of perspective with the sky and surrounding nature.
The ground floor of the building, occupied by the living areas, is open to various private and semi-private gardens and to a covered, sheltered terrace, being an important space at the heart of the home.
The internal mineral court reveals an outward-looking, organic view that provides access to private spaces in the night area located on the 2nd floor.
Through the architectural composition, materials, vision, Casa Studio1408 introduces a sensible lifestyle in a balanced and necessary relationship with nature, amplifying all the moments of the day in the scenic setting of the seasons in this wonderful grove.
