Guest House Don Totu - Pool House
The Guest House Don Totu is a restored historical building located in a rural village in the middle of Salento peninsula.
Its architecture is a composition of large halls, lodges, hypogean spaces, courtyards and roof terraces.
The restoration project respected the vernacular character of the place, selecting local materials and manufacture. The sequence of interior and exterior spaces, shapes and colors have been designed to inspire and surprise the guests.
Designed for the "plaisir" of the guests who enjoy the wonderful garden and the pool, this architecture is the result of a balanced synthesis between tradition and innovation, comfort and energy sustainability, respectful of the Mediterranean culture.
The Pool House combines the ancient construction techniques of edge vaults typical of Salento, with a more contemporary language: the main façade is characterized by perforated stone panels that allow incoming of north wind in summer.
The roof terrace give a panoramic view of the pool and of the garden, moreover is designed to play, under the starry sky, movie shows.
