Can Huguet
To adapt a small space as a hidraulic tiles showroom. The space is a small annexe to the factory where these tiles are produced. The solution understands that each elements has its constructive role, it isolates each constructive element and its nature is shown: from the disposition of the concrete blocks until the size of the aggregate used in the pavement joint.
Lower Cladding
A vibrated concrete block cladding acts as a neutral and colourness backdrop. The lower blocks are laid in stretcher bond every three rows, from the floor up to 2,20m high. (The lower part is structurally more demanding)
Upper Cladding
The cladding. From 2,20m up, is laid with continuous vertical joint. (The upper part is structurally less demanding).
Lintels and Thresholds
Great precast terrazzo pieces with great deameter gravel sustain the portals and mark the entrance to the new showroom space.
They intend to relate to the vibrated concrete blocks, hence the use of gravel and mortar, but their purpose is more structural and representative, so the gravel used is much larger and furthermore they are polished and reduced, achieving noble-looking and heavy appearance.
False Ceiling
A light timber batten structure supports the new false ceiling made on hemp cloth.
Exhibition Structure
A light timber batten framework acts as support for the exhibition. This framework accomplishes to make evident that the hydraulic tiles are cladding elements.
