Local upgrade as professional study
This reduced intervention in a small place in the historic center of the city Burgos, was born with the main objective of transforming the inherited place, a traditional hairdresser, into a humble and comfortable workplace.
Given the simplicity of the space, decisions and strategies are as simple as those used to shape the proposal. The diagonal component that presents one of the sides of the premises is the one that is used to promote a slight tension that not only serves to expand the interior spatial perception, but is also used to organize the different areas within a single space.
In this way, the access zone is generated in its broadest part, the work area in the middle and the meeting area in the background, in a more intimate and collected context. At the end of the premises, and under the stairs of the building, and behind a hidden door, the toilet and storage area are arranged.
Due to its relationship with the only hollow to the outside, this diagonal wall, thanks to its natural lighting from the south by day and the artificial one arranged above it at night, is used as a sort of showcase, an exhibiting mural that serves same time as interior work surface and reclamation of face to the outside.
The finishes also pursue this simple, warm and at the same time versatile component, and it is in the details, in the meetings between them, that the naturalness pursued in the proposal as a whole becomes patent again.
