Design and realization of an open single-family residence
Massiveness versus openness
With its 33 metres, this residence was destined to have an unusual length. That length offered possibilities for making a strong statement: one of the ends of the building has a cantilever of 8 metres.
The brick architecture provides a very special experience through the relief in the brick facing.
To compensate for the location along a busy road, the designer raised the residence. This guarantees privacy and at the same time provides beautiful views of the rolling surroundings behind the house.
An inner patio on the first floor provides light for a playroom, bathroom and the night hall. A storey lower a different patio gives dynamics to the living space and a multipurpose space.
