A house built on the heights of Nancy in the 1960s, adjoining on both sides and full of character.
The program called for a restructuring and extension of the first floor, which will accommodate a master suite, two children's rooms and a bathroom.
One of the major challenges of the project was to establish a dialogue between the living spaces, the master bedroom and the exceptional green oasis located in the heart of the block.
Our approach to the project was to make the most of the extension by creating a wider bay window overlooking the pool and garden, thus breathing new life into the living room located on the ground floor.
Secondly, we created a wooden frame wall extension upstairs to accommodate the master suite, and restructured the floor to accommodate two bedrooms and a bathroom. The initial hallway was also broadened to become an area of conviviality.
The wooden frame extension features an oblique cantilever oriented towards the protected wooded area, in the heart of the block. It offers a sheltered space on the terraces of the ground floor and first floor, playing the role of a “sun-breaker” in the summer.
Two large aluminum sliding frames and a glazed railing help to connect the interior and exterior spaces.
Standing seam pre-weathered zinc cladding surrounds the wooden structure.
