Pedro, Juan y Diego Publicity Agency
The commission was the creation of the headquarters for publicity agency Pedro, Juan and Diego in the underground floor of a building in the city of Santiago. The main premise is to build a place in which people can work creatively and collaboratively, and thar the space remind us of the street, and to be able to be a physical reflection or manifesto of the spirit of the agency.
The project must allow an horizontal and team work, where there is a great interaction between the creative ones, in which we ant to promote the informality to gather, create and connect, as it happens in the street, understanding that these instances are the moments of greatest creativity and productivity. The project will not only be a place of work, but above all, a space of entertainment and interaction.
We believe that the typical schemes of offices of free plant or sectorized plant are obsolete, this is why we propose a new strategy. We start from a premise of the agency itself: "Liquid ideas are expressed independently of the format, support or even the medium. Compared to harsh ideas, their adaptation to the environment is simpler. They are liquid ideas because they adapt to the container that contains them "
In that sense we propose a fluid space (or liquid), in which we have decided to strategically insert 3 volumes containing 3 fundamental programs. These volumes create the different spaces and relationships between the different parts of the project and their users. Its insertion allows to generate continuity, but without a total visibility, so that the different places appear and disappear, creating a series of atmospheres.
Collective workspaces alternate with more private work spaces and intermediate spaces. The 3 volumes in the form of gold or amber crystals contain 3 main places: a space of creation and interaction, individual work offices and a cafeteria, which will be in charge of measuring space and generate different instances.
To this order, there are free spaces with different atmospheres, alternating a library, like a playground with swings, two round tables of informal work, in the manner of a dining room, and an urban cafeteria, which allow meeting and casual work. These unconventional places generate an estrangement of the city and the street where Pedro, Juan and Diego are located.
The access is produced by a yellow tunnel, which causes the sensation of entering a unique and unconventional place. A transparent volume located in the bottom, like a fish bowl, contains the meeting rooms, a livingroom and individual work offices, without losing the direct relationship with the rest of the space.
Instead of just creating offices we have created a workshop, a laboratory, a living, a square, a cafeteria or even a bar, a series of instances of work and creation.
