22 Housing Units, Clamart
The 22 housing units in Clamart are part of the renovation of the Cité du Pavé Blanc, a social housing district on the edge of the Meudon Forest in Western Paris.
This project concerns the rehabilitation of the existing buildings (800 apartments), the requalification of the public space, and the construction of 84 new housing units.
The 22-unit building develops a typology of intermediate dwellings that group around a central courtyard; two-room dwellings on the ground floor, and duplex of 4 or 5 rooms on the 1st and 2nd floor.
Each house is extended by a terrace, as well as an individual patio for the duplex. From the central courtyard, individual accesses to each dwelling are developed, offering a stronger sensation of privacy for each resident.
Facing the landscape to the West and the East, these apartments are generously open toward the landscape, and instead, towards the inner courtyard, they are more closed for greater privacy. A large amount of natural light is available for each room, including bathrooms and hallways for each duplex.
The building is constructed with prefabricated white concrete walls for exterior facades, and coated concrete for the inner courtyard. All glass facades receive venetian blinds with oriental blades ensuring summer comfort, and the concealment of all the main rooms.
