A year after the opening in the new location- a private apartment from the early years of last century - GUM Salon reinvents itself. Again. Willing to provide a totally different experience to its customers, Gum becomes a shelter, a Haven, where clients can feel at home, and where beauty care happens in different ways, that involve the staff, the clients and the salon itself. The project aims to embrace and exalt the eclectic milanese atmosphere of the location, making it a friendly space where everyone can feel completely at ease and relax in an intimate yet fancy environment. The cozy and out-of-time feeling is created using old wooden consoles and pettineuses from the first half of the 20th century as work stations in the different rooms. A particular colour marks each room: bordeaux for the welcoming area, with the old British boiserie working as a screen hiding the wardrobe, pink for the dyeing room, petrol blue for the ladies' room and mud-green for the gentlemen's room. Custom made golden wall-lamps, tribute to the famous Giò Ponti's Linestra, provide the right lighting. Heavy dramatic velvet drapes make the space feel softer and warmer, while hiding the washing and dyeing areas. A unique bar from the 50s, where clients can sip drinks and chat while taking care of their beauty, becomes the new heart of The Salon.
