Extension, restoration, and partial conversion of east London church
Extension, reconfiguration and conservation of a Victorian Church to support a range of cultural and community events in addition to its religious role. Interventions inside and out are types of screen; masonry and timber. Arches frame arches and red brick compliments green leaf. A baldachin-like entrance pavilion welcomes vistors from all directions. A roof terrace addresses the flora and fauna of the ancient Epping Forest. Spaces for education, music, and reflection are created, and the community of the church is expanded and enriched.
