Level - Cédric Dasesson
My personal Exhibition
Cédric Dasesson’s exhibition and editorial choice of his works follows the so-called “Natural Order of Things”, that is, the condition of absolute synthesis and harmony between nature and man, from which to start for having an orderly, elaborated and comprehensible narrative.
Cédric’s works are like “variations on the subject” for visions and introspections from different points, where by changing the order of factors, the “artistic message” does not change in the three levels of knowledge: Under Water – Sea Level and Above Sea.
From the submerged level to the emerging water and lands in search of interpretive lines to represent those unique, exclusive, perfect “natural conditions” almost being mapped with geometric Cartesian coordinates. The selected images are single works and each one needs an interpretive, stylistic, artistic insight, but the temptation to “read them” as a whole becomes very natural, consequential, instinctive and exciting.
Formal thinking, continuity and stylistic consistency of Cèdric’s photographic works find themselves in the remarkably exclusive interpretations of the colours and endless architectural compositions of marine landscapes.
In his pictures, Cédric does not fear to offer the “already known” sensation, as it was in the great artwork of Renaissance artists, baroque, “vedutisti” and divisionalists. It is just the “deception” that counts, which allows the spectator to overcome the initial threshold of “skepticism” and thus to dwell on the time needed to “understand”, to interpret, to open to knowledge, experience, and to the universal beauty.
In fact, when this threshold is over, immediately the vision of Cédric Dasesson’s works opens to the viewer uncovered insights of knowledge that lead to the investigation of that unique picture, composed by feelings, sensations, thought, matter, shape, color, lines, balance and movement.
