House RM
The project consists in a little house for a single family in the village of Zivignago, at the beginning of the Val dei Mocheni. The building is inserted harmoniously in the context, although it shows off its contemporaneity.
The volume is a traditional house with a pitched roof. Also the materials, light plaster for the façades and wood for windows and balconies evoke the historic houses of the village realized with stone and lime and with traditional perforated wood panels. Instead of the trapezoidal plan and the design of the façades through subtraction of volume shapes a modern form. The house is a compact volume with three big excavations. At the ground level they create two protected spaces, one as principal entry of the house, one as access to the private garden. At the first floor the third space is a covered terrace that frames the castle of Pergine in the background. The exterior plasticity is expressed also in the interior. The main space of the house is expanded in order to relate the kitchen and the living room with the upper level under the roof.
