VESTIAIRES STADE FALQUETTE - SAINT CYR SUR MER
vGHcompany has delivered a sports platform and cloakroom stadium in Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer (South of France). The project proposes a set of mineral volumes creating a new signal and entrance for the Falquette Stadium.
The program provides for the construction of two changing rooms, each with a bathroom and a shower area, as well as a storage space in place of the former cloakrooms, previously demolished. The three entities admit very distinct entries.
In addition, the cloakroom project is an opportunity to reconsider the surroundings of the football stadium and the sequence of entry, in relation to the car park.
The design of the locker rooms for the Falquette stadium appeared as a challenge, resulting from the analysis of a concise program that had to be adapted to the constraints of the site. The context has something stimulating; it is a question of making emerge a small building of less than 50m ² in the middle of two vast flat areas of more than 3000 m ²: a football ground and a parking.
This situation reveals the stakes of this rather simple program.
How to manifest this small building from the avenue? How to make it communicate with this particular context and unattractive? What orientation to give him? These are the outlines of a challenge that would become exciting.
Since our first ideas, we have considered the programmatic approach and the contextual situation as two intrinsic notions. Isolated, we wanted to assign a signal status to this building. The architecture of the building is approached as a new ludic, solitary tool, supposed to be an entrance to the stadium.
