The pavilion was built in 1977 on the idea of Giuliano Gresleri, his brother Glauco and José Oubrerie, on the occasion of the participation of France at the Bologna International Building Exhibition.
It is a replica, faithful in every detail, of the building designed by Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret for the 1925 Universal Exhibition in Paris, then demolished.
