Senior Living Son Martorell
The proposed solution tries to link the past of the site with the future of the area by creating a very compact and fuctional scheme. The main gesture is the aligment of the building to the streets and a concious set back of one of these sides to allow an historic windmill to have a presence in the neighbourhood.
At the same time a setback on the sides allows the scheme to be independent of the shape of the site and creates two big outdoor spaces. Two big courtyards allow the scheme to work in the best possible way, with a functional and compact circulation.
The facade tries to minimize the scale of the building and the blinds camouflaging the openings allow to feel the presence of an elegant volume that is splinted in three floors but because of the change of materiality you only perceive it as two. A very welcoming bedroom scheme tries to bring together the functionality of a health care facility with the warmth of a home.
