Valley House
The Valley House is an isolated shelter that carries us to a place in time where man lived in a purely natural environment due to the lack of technical ability to transform it.
It stands in a place where you take conscience of the brutality and beauty of the struggle between natural and artificial.
The house is made out of concrete. Concrete appears as a mineral, almost a natural substance, as a substance that could have emerged from below to the surface. The house is like matter that has been sculpted. In time, the natural substance, will take possession of the artificial volume and consume it until the day it will dominate again its territory.
With 82m length, 8m width and 340m2 of useful area, the house and the swimming pool (located in the roof) stand in opposite sides and different levels but within the same walls, the floor plan obeys to a typical regional typology in which all compartments gather around a central room, the veranda, that assumes itself as the nuclear part of the building where family and friends congregate.
