TRAITOR ZHOU'S
The challenge for the project was to insert a simple but rich functional program into an existing room of only 16 sq. The project is an infill intervention to create a space cut out inside the kitchen of a Japanese restaurant under an existing staircase. We challenged this disadvantaged situation by using thin iron plates to build both shelves for products and all claddings on walls, which could be further customized with magnetic elements, displays and graphics. We designed a diffuse light from the ceiling to avoid the use of spotlights and make the space look brighter.
