199 Units housings and shops spread into two lots – ZAC des Grands Moulins
The developed urban composition involves, to glorify, in a uni
fied architectural vision, the clarity of the plot containing the existing buildings. The new housing will emphasize the already existing as well as the contemporary and environmental aspects. For this, a constructive grid is set, of equal value for all the buildings. Incorporating the fundamentals of the foundation, the body, and the summit.
This composition is coordinated by wide urban breaches that provide different viewpoints from across the street all the way towards the heart of the block.
These gaps contain the accesses to apartments that are surmounted by wide and private terraces in wood clading as its essence. These generous openings animate, from the pedestrian's point of view, the ways they go along.
The wide drillings enrich the perception of the facade. They are aligned or randomized depending on the sequences and the rhythms that are established by the buildings. A couple of bow windows liven up the facades by reflecting playful and natural lights. A set of terraces and loggias exceed and surpass the inhabited space from the inside all the way outward from an intimate setting to a public space.
