ADMINISTRATIVE & CULTURAL CENTER
The project is based on natural and contextual materials interacting with each other: stone, wood and copper.
A Corsican granite facing reveals some singular nuances and granulosity, depending on the time of the day or the season of the year, giving a strong meaning to the structure, thus acting as a witness of temporality. The walls are thick, installing the building in its mass.
The roughness of this granite is revealed by the scintillating and polished appearance of the copper of the roofing, which is itself carried by majestic Laricciu pine poles. The massiveness and the base of the building are contrasted by this aerial and overhanging element.
Renowned location for holidays in Corsica, the coast of Grosseto-Prugna has a strong affluence. Such observation led to the desire to propose a strong architecture daring multiple functions and gathering various usages, while creating a sound meeting place.
Going beyond the structure itself, the project integrates a reflection at the urban scale, putting public space into practice. Two buildings take place on either side of this space, gathered under a protective unitary roof. It constitutes a strong signal in the landscape, which unites and unifies all the services provided to the inhabitants.
It is a sensual project whose objective is to link, through continuity, urban functioning, materials and context.
