AIR CUBE - Nature Art Cube Exhibition of Geumgang Nature Art Biennale 2017
“Air cube” is an abstract work designed for Korea Geumgang Natural Art Biennale 2017; exhibited works will be permanently exhibited at the Geumgang Nature Art Biennale. The theme of the exhibition is "12x12x12cm+Nature", which implies a deliberate between the most fundamental artificial creature (12x12x12/Cube) and unpredictable nature. Therefore, I propose an abstract architectural model base on the correlations between geometry and spatial phenomena to introspect the deliberate of the exhibition.
Air is a fluid close to homogeneous density, transparent and intangible, filling in the gaps in human living space.
The fluid changes its flow direction and "density form" with the change of the perimeter conditions (temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure etc.). And the difference in air fluidity or density essentially indirect reflects the health and comfort in the environment.
So wonder, the density of the air is the density of living space? In order to create a room (city, building) harmony with the nature, should we start from "seeing" the air/space?
In this work, I put the cube (also the fundamental geometry of architecture and city) fusion with the stealth air phenomenon, multiply an architectural "form / phenomenon" which between tangible and intangible, visible and invisible.
