CASA B·08
In the fast-paced urban surroundings of the Metropolitan Area of Guadalajara, the residential project represents a space capable of protecting the intimacy of the family nucleus at an individual level. The project emerges from a creative process through the program of necessities using diagrams that are based on the functions necessary to respect the individuality of each member and while stimulating family interactions.
The project seeks to provide authenticity in its areas to obtain a specific environment in each one while promoting family integration; as a result, the project is composed by varied levels and heights depending on their use and capacity.
Functionally, the project implements vertical circulations as the main element to distribute and personalize each space. On the ground floor, it provides greater height to the social area located at the back of the house, amplitude is extended towards the garden and has the dimensions capable of holding a greater number of users. On the first level, secondary rooms are isolated, therefore emphasizing coexistence between siblings. The main room continues half a level apart to preserve the couple’s intimacy. Finally, the family area is located on the second floor and extends to the front terrace, protected from noise and movement of the social area.
The final language of the project seeks sleekness in the volumes and tonalities to function as a filter from the urban surroundings and to strengthen the contrast with the gardening; therefore, polished finishes, smooth finishes, walnut woodwork and smooth sheet coverings that integrate the doors to the volumes were used. Ornaments are reduced to a minimum to congruently comply with the sleekness of the volumes and their materials.
The reflection on the house as a construction designed to harbor privacy and in turn promote family and social integration leads to a purposeful result on the needs presented and the quality of life they seek.
