Vasiliadou Residential by Barlas Architects
A five-storey apartment building in the center of Patras Greece designed by Barlas Architects
The project is about a five store apartment building with pilotis, which is adjacent to an old 2 store building to the north and to an 7 store apartment building to the south. The whole composition is articulated by rectangular volumes grow incrementally, taking in account the ratios of the neighbour buildings, to create a smooth transition. Each floor consists of an autonomous residence outside of the D & E which develops a two-stores house. The houses have large openings for better illumination and natural ventilation, and to create a better contact with the outdoors spaces. The spanned balconies - open spaces act as viable outdoors, extension home.
