Mesa Verde club
A club’s private parking lot (Serendipity Club) becomes the perfect opportunity to design a summer terrace, thus valorising and promoting once again a suburban area of the town of Foligno.
The project is inspired by the typical industrial district’s geometric architecture, where this space emerges emphasising its strongest visual elements, and defining a sharp, neat composition.
A wooden floor, bamboo canes and the iron structures are, together with the rough plastered surfaces, the main features of the project, that perfectly blends with both preexisting and newly planted vegetation such as banana trees, small palm trees and tropical bamboos.
The main component of the project is a long, low wooden structure, connecting the space entrance with the center of the dancefloor, functioning as both a sitting bench and a dancing platform. A bright sign stretching along the floor towards the console space, situated within a small booth made out of iron and wooden materials. This lifted stage, where the guests are hosted, connects the main level with the higher one, where customised gazebos on a garden form the space’s relax areas.
The generic decorative aspect, besides of the architectonic composition, is also given by a series of tribal masks hanging across the whole place, almost guarding the space borders. These figures recall the primitive forms of representation, with an ironic and contemporary twist that perfectly matches the club’s sharp and geometrical outlook.
