[Co-KÖMM], is conceived thinking that the application of pure industrial values such as prefabrication, repetition or modulation, not only reduces costs and makes construction processes more efficient, but produces a better architectural result.
The construction must become a "meccano", a system of assembly of parts manufactured by the industry, whose complexity resides in the knots and meetings between them, reducing to the maximum both the site contingencies and the deadlines.
We think the space generated by the new building has to be flexible and open, allowing a simple re-configuration and appropriation of spaces for other types of activities.
Therefore, the whole program has been closed inside a large blue beam that articulates the interior space, and through its position in the interior space creates the climatic gallery, base of our nZEB energy proposal.
The outer space is open both to the public and the collective space, connecting, on one hand, the workers of the factory with the workers of the offices through the longitudinal garden that runs along the south facade; and on the other, connecting the industrial estate with the new office building, through the large entrance plaza.
