Friendly Urbanity
The main intention of the project is to continue a nice urbanity in agreement with the village.
Instead of a rigid architectural « gesture », we propose an open, modest an relaxed composition project.
Ensuring a high spatial fluidity around the building that benefits users.
Providing the inhabitants with generous, versatile and easily adaptable public spaces.
On the social level we offer a place of cohabitation : between different institutions, between successive generations and between social categories.

An house

An house of character completes the historical core of the village of Meinier, grouped around the church of Saint-Pierre.
The new building retains the main attributes of the old houses of the village, namely: a one-off volume, no alignment with the neighbors, a concentric shape with a paneled roof, a classic cornice borrowed from the old school Town hall, a mineral and robust materiality, a modest and timeless dignity.

The village

The ancient heart of the village reinforces its peculiarity of being an addition of objects that can assert themselves as isolated individuals. It is also distinguished from the rest of the agglomerations, whose constructions are of a larger scale and generally built on a contiguous mode.

The program

The main entrance of the new school is on the ground-floor on the covered courtyard, which connects it directly with the school annex and the gymnasium.
The distribution by half-level facilitates and enhances the course within the new school.
The classrooms are grouped on the ground floor, +1 and +2.
In the attic, the master room and the visual arts room are equipped with generous zenith lighting.
The garden level, open on an inferior courtyard on the side of the old school, hosts the support room and the games room, as well as logistical access to the communal depot located in the basement.
The company rooms are grouped against the existing school annex and have independent access from the outside.
