The innovative morphology of this brick housing project was developed in specific relation to the open landscape adjacent to the River Seine. Its gradual form makes use of multiple terraces allowing a width that tapers from 20 metres to 13 metres, progressing in this way from a massive to a fine structure. A day nursery is located on the ground floor of the central volume. Garden terraces and a staircase-like procession of balconies animate the facades. Not only is the uniqueness of the architecture revealed on the exterior, it is also inherent in the typological concept, with dual-aspect or triple orientation housing. These apartments contain storage rooms and large balconies on the lower levels. On the upper levels, the apartments are extended by open living spaces which look onto the park. In the day nursery, the childcare spaces are organised in a ribbon layout around a central garden encouraging a strong visual interaction. Wooden furniture divides the spaces, separating the glazed modules of the adult areas from the open, child-oriented areas.
