Cecchini, Gazzola - Cittadella dei Musei
Made approximately twenty years after the first version (1956), the project by architects Piero Gazzola (1908-1979) and Libero Cecchini (b. 1919) for the Citadella dei Musei in Cagliari is part of the renewal of the debate on restoration and museography between the 50s and 60s of the 20th Century. The wise use of materials, the fascinating harmony of spaces and the constant alternation of ancient and modern make the Cittadella a place that "attracts attention and interest both in the specialist and in the street man" (P. Gazzola).
