The Divine Comedy Cube
This work develops the idea to build a 9 meters cube temporary exhibition room, a tribute to Italian literature, that represent the Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy.
The concept started from reading and reinterpreting the 1938 project “Danteum” of Giuseppe Terragni; the divine proportion of the Fibonacci’s sequence and the Golden Ratio, becomes structural element to develop the project.
This mystical space is composed by three layer: Inferno - Purgatorio - Paradiso.
Inferno is a dark labyrinth of walls were people lose themselves; the passage to Purgatorio is marked by a small door and stairs represents the ascension to Paradise.
This is a paradigmatic square space, with reflective floor, suspended and hanged by 33 lines: here the light comes out from the ceiling.
