CIRIZA HOUSE
This house was designed later, but in continuity with the formal investigation initiated with the Iribarren House at Sorauren, and develops -this time- a larger programme for a family house.
Set in a beautiful landscape, dominating the surroundings from a hilltop, the tripartite general composition emphasizes the centre, the only part under the gable supported by a triangular pediment, as expression of the main public area of the house – conceived as a venetian sala pasante – both referred to its exterior atrium and also to the inner courtyard that organizes the house in two levels.
The materials: concrete blocks for the two lateral wings or private areas of the house and white stucco for the public area which serves as background for this composition by parts and emphasizes the relation with vernacular architecture seeking an analogy with the beautiful houses situated in the surroundings.
