D1 House
D1 House's just a second home that is born of this ancestral attitude, when a family seeks refuge from the metropolitan agitation on the small beach of Atlântida Sul, one of the few that still preserve the seaside character on the north coast of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
A house with a little more than 250.00m2 that spreads across the corner lot, aligned with the bottom of the lot to privilege the spaces for the landscaping that surrounds the residence. As a good beach house, the project privileges the spaces of leisure and social life, which develop in the living room and extend through the large balcony. The block of dormitories is located so as to ensure greater privacy, while the social part is in communication with the
street.
The formal solution of the project is marked by the quest to anemize the strong west sunshine of the main façade. In this sense, apparent concrete masks project beyond the body of the house and delimit the porch space, protecting the house and supporting the pergolas that filter the light but do not completely bar their entrance. In addition, vertical concrete brusses interrupt the linearity of the upper miter that marks the double height of the living
The gross aspect of the apparent concrete establishes an intentional contrast with the purity of the white bulk of the main body of the house. Cast concrete masks work with benches, a reading seat, and frame the landscape.
