RecoVeco by Lorenzo Castro Jaramillo
The RecoVeco pavilion is a temporary structure that was designed by the Colombian architect Lorenzo Castro Jaramillo for the Festival Internacional de Arquitectura y Ciudad, Mextrópoli 2016 in Mexico City. The pavilion was constructed by a team of students and a design professor of the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá in collaboration with the Mexican architect Meir Lobaton Corona. The design was inspired by the architecture of Mathias Goeritz, specifically by Goeritz’ experimental museum El Eco.
Lorenzo Castro Jaramillo: "The original inspiration for the pavilion was to resume Goeritz’ idea of a walkthrough, where transition means more than a means to arrive at a destination. Instead, it becomes a spacial and sensorial experience on its own, complemented by multiple references and the intention of converting the project into an accelerator of urban life at a strategic spot of the city."
