The project consists in the refurbishment of a house between party walls located in La Tallada, a genuine small village of Empordà. The volume of the house supposed to be rehabilitated had undergone several changes and extensions which contributed to its peculiar aspect of a turret. The project has sought to strengthen this particular verticality of the house that we found extremely attractive among the general environment. From the entrance begins the ascent through a series of stairs that give access to the different spaces, until arriving to the swimming pool that is the highest point of the house. Some of the original openings of the upper volume had an elongated proportion and ended in semicircular arches, a really common typology in many houses of the town. It was decided to interpret this pattern and repeat it throughout the upper floor, applying it on doors , windows and passageways between the different rooms as well. The main facade also participates in this language, exteriorising through a large vertical gap the vertical sequence of spaces that are stacked inside the house.
