CCVD - CULTURAL CENTRE VILLANUEVA DE DUERO
The purpose of this project is to equip the town of Villanueva de Duero with a meeting space suitable for its needs.
The project includes a building with ground floor and basement, which will hold a cultural centre, an assembly hall, which is the main objective of this assignment, and an annexe, which will be a multi-purpose room to be used as classroom, workshop, meeting room, etc.
The building projected is located on a corner and stands out from the adjoining buildings by its shape and its outward appearance: shaped as a rectangular tablet that leans and bows towards the top with a white concrete finish marked with vertical veins that evoke the characteristic pine woods of the surroundings.
Visually, the assembly hall opens to Prado Street through a large window that takes up almost all the south-east façade. In this same façade, the volume of the building rises making a projection that is even more noticeable due to the increase of the slope of the land on this side of the plot.
In the inner courtyard, the steel finishes and silk screened glass with the photograph of a pine wood landscape give the sensation of being outside, right in the middle of one of the nearby pine woods.
