Interior Design in the Parrote Car Park. A Coruña
The Parrote car park is already a reality eleven years after the works had been awarded and after four years stoped, between 2008 and 2012, during this time it was necessary to adapt the project to the archaeological remains that were found in the area. The car park has two entrances. You can access both by Puerta Real and by the San Anton Castle. In the case of the first, this is a temporary entry while the tunnel in construction to connect the underground of the Marina is not ended, which will connect with the Parrote, the entrance will be located underground. The car park has 610 spaces.
Inside the car park an attractive and cheerful appearance, distant from the sober aspect of the traditional car parks. The colour is therefore a key element, with a dual function to identify the different areas of the parking lot for easy understanding of the user, and at the same time, give unity to the whole.
A fundamental premise has been the choice of materials, resistant and easy to maintain, which represents a major cost saving. In this way, a cladding of aluminium pannels of different colours was designed for the top part of the walls, and on the base Tramex grid, which protects the walls in areas where they can be damaged by the vehicles.
The car park consists on a two level underground buiding, the floor -1, is destined to public car park, and in the level -2 is the area of subscribers.
The vertical access cores are covered of backlit polycarbonate, so that they become light boxes in the interior of the parking lot, making it easy for the user to locate them. This polycarbonate becomes the ideal canvas for the placement of the signage.
