SESC Bauru
The start of the architectural project adopted by the architects, allows a bigger participation of the population in convergence with all the activities of the building to areas of social interactions.
Located in São Paulo’s countryside, this SESC unit - Social Service of Commerce – in Bauru was inaugurated in 1977. With approximately 18 500 m2 of built area, the unit has sports and water parks, leisure, educational, health and food areas as well as administrative spaces. What is remarkable about the edifice is the employment of exposed concrete, the exhibit of the reinforced concrete structure, and the generous living and circulation areas such as the ramps of the main lobby - these features are also remarkable in other edifices of the same period in the architecture of São Paulo, and also in the SESC São José dos Campos unit by the same architects. This unit has undergone a refurbishing designed by architect Eduardo de Castro Mello.
