HOUSE S&J
This project was all about combining working and living in one space. Rather than perforating the existing wall, the architects decided to remove it entirely and to introduce a desk as visual boundary instead. The circulation and entrance hall were reorganised and integrated in the spatial concept. A new, playful window provides the desk with sufficient natural light and gives the room a character of its own. The cabinet, window, desk and incorporated pivot constitute a visual ensemble within the existing interior. The material use was decided in consultation with the client in order to create a warm and elegant atmosphere. Although limited in terms of scale, the overall procedure provides the entire house with a new, dynamic input.
